Harry James^] Potter (b. 31 July, 1980) was a half-blood wizard, the only child and son of  James and Lily Potter  and one of the most famous wizards of modern times. Lord Voldemort 

 (the worst magician) tried to murder Harry when he was a year and three months old. Voldemort murdered Harry's parents as they tried to protect him, but he couldn't murder the baby.

He lived with his aunt , uncle and his cousin Dudley until he was eleven years old when he realised he was a wizard.
He received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991. At this school he met Hermione, Ron Weasley and.... do you want to know more???
